After spending a lovely Christmas with my little family and some great friends, we are now getting ready to take a road trip, or as Brady likes to call it, a business trip!!!

Brady: Mummy? Where are we going again?
Mummy: We're going to Miami.
Brady: Your ami? Where's your ami??

I love my little guys amazing mind and the way he thinks, he's quite the joker at only 2yrs and 9 months.

What are you?

This morning Brady & I were snuggling in the big bed before going downstairs for breakfast.

Mummy: You are my precious snuggly baby! What are you? (Expecting him to repeat my words).
Brady: I'm English!
Mummy: You're English?
Brady: Yeah, I'm not a precious baby, I'm just English.

Autumn.

Brady: Am I going to school today?
Mummy: No, not today, it's Saturday.
Brady: Is school out for summer?
Daddy: No, summer is over, it's Autumn now.
Mummy: Do you know what happens in Autumn?
Brady: Yes, the leaves go to yellow in Autumn.

We had this conversation with Brady at lunch today. His knowledge amazes us so much, Daddy & I both had tears in our eyes. How does he know these things???

Put them back!

Daddy left for Detroit today, he won't be back till late Tuesday night, we usually share the bedtime routine, but it's all left to me for a few night, which isn't unusual as daddy travels frequently, but it is hectic trying to get it all done alone.

At bedtime tonight, Brady requested 3 books, they were all short, so I gladly read them all, then put him in bed and kissed him goodnight. 20 minutes later!

Brady: Mummy? (Yelling at me from upstairs)
Mummy: Brady, what are you doing? Get back to bed.
Brady: But I can't mummy, you need to put them back.
Mummy: Put what back?
Brady: The books, you left them on the floor.
Mummy: Oh!

We walk hand-in-hand back to his room.

Brady: See, you left them on the floor, right there.
Mummy: I'm sorry.
Brady: Can you put them back so I can sleep?
Mummy: Sure, I'll put them back.

I put the books back, said goodnight and left the room, I haven't heard a peep since!!!

Puppy!!!

No, no, we didn't get a puppy, but we may go down that road sooner than later.

One of Brady's favourite shows on TV is "Bubble Guppies", he love it so much that he'll watch the same episode over and over, he even asks for specific episodes. On the episode we watched earlier, the characters adopted a puppy and called it "Bubble Puppy".

Brady: Look mummy, look! It's bubble puppy. Look! Look! Look!
Mummy: Oh yeah, it's a puppy.
Brady: I wish I could get a puppy!(said in a "feel sorry for me" tone".
Mummy: You do?
Brady: Yeah, can I get a puppy? Can I?

Will you marry me?

Hubby has been away all week, so it's just been Brady & I. The other morning I woke up to find him in my bed, stroking my arm.

Brady: You are the most beautiful mummy, I love you.
Mummy: I love you too son.
Brady: Can I borrow your married ring?
Mummy: No, it's precious.
Brady: But I want to put it on your finger and marry you.
Mummy: What happens when you get married?
Brady: I give you a ring, say congratulations and then kiss you.

He is so sweet and loving, I never want that to change and I hope in the very far future, he finds someone very deserving of his love.

Moving out? Already!

Brady was playing with some toy dollar notes when he said to me:

Brady: I've got money, I'm going to find a nice place to live!
Mummy: Is this house a nice place to live?
Brady: Yes, but I'm just finding another nice place.

To-may-toe, to-mah-to, po-tay-toe?

Brady and I were playing in his kitchen today, he was cooking me dinner and he realised he needed his frying pan, which was upstairs in his bath. Off we went upstairs to get it. When there, he noticed one of his plastic vegetables on the side of the bath too and decided he wanted that too.

Brady: I want the to-may-toe mummy?
Mummy: The what Brady?
Brady: The to-may-toe.
Mummy: The what?
Brady: Hmmm, the, the to-mah-toe.
Mummy: You mean po-tay-toe?
Brady: Yes, the po-tay-toe.

Love he knew the difference between the American & British pronunciation of "TOMATO" and which one he had to say to me even though he did get confused with the rhyming of to-may-toe & po-tay-toe!!! He is one smart cookie.

You love me!

Last night I was playing with Brady in his bedroom, we were playing trains, he came over to me and kissed my arm.

Mummy: What's that for?
Brady : A kiss.
Mummy: Why?
Brady: Because you love me.

He is so loving and affectionate, I hope that never changes.

BOO!!!

Well, well, well!!! I'm back again. Have had quite a lot of personal stuff going on in my life the past few months that left me forgetting ALL about this blog, but I'm going to give it another go, it can't be that hard, can it???

BEST Daddy!

It was a long weekend here in the USA, Monday was a national holiday to celebrate Memorial Day. We spent the weekend getting things done around the house, Brady & daddy cut the grass and washed the cars, mummy done washing & ironing. One of the days daddy made lunch whilst mummy was upstairs ironing. After lunch Brady came upstairs to see me.

Mummy: Did daddy make you lunch?
Brady: Yes, yes he did.
Mummy: Ahhhh, he's a good daddy.
Brady: The best, Best BEST daddy!!!

I love he now understands how to put emphasis on certain words to make his sentences more effective.

Slacker!!!

So, when I thought about starting a blog, I had every intention of updating it on a daily basis, but that hasn't happened so far! I will try to do better in the future. Here's a collection of what Brady has been saying over the past few weeks (lucky for you, I noted them in a notebook)!

Do as I say! ~ May 26th 2011

Adam came over again today as his momma had an appointment. Brady and Adam were playing together in the front room when Adam decided he'd had enough and came through to the family room, Brady wasn't at all impressed and decided to let Adam know his feelings exactly!

Brady: Come here Adam Leasure, come here right now or you're going home!

Where did he get such a comment from you may ask? Well, when we go to the park with Adam and his momma, she often says this when Adam runs off, when she says it though it works better as Adam comes back, Brady doesn't quite have that talent yet.

Is it a car? A plane? No, it's a.....May 25th 2011

Brady: What's that man doing mummy?
Mummy: Getting in his car.
Brady: No, he's getting in his truck mummy.

This exchange happened at the supermarket car park. Clearly Brady needed specifics, excuse me son!!!

Girls, girls, girls! ~ May 18th 2011

Whilst get dressed this morning, the TV in our bedroom was on and Brady was in his bedroom playing. A commercial for "Dancing with the Stars" came on and Brady came bounding into our bedroom.

Brady: I want to watch "Dancing with the Girls".

He loves to dance and does so at every opportunity.

Drive me crazy ~ May 17th 2011

Today we went to visit Daddy at his office, of course we wanted to see daddy, but the main reason was to see some of his colleagues who were visiting from Japan. On the way back home, a car in front of me, was driving very slowly in the outside lane and holding me up, which led to some frustration from me.

Mummy: (Tut & Sigh) Stupid!
Brady: What mummy? (pause) Some people can't drive?

Fishes ~ May 13th 2011

We went to Chattanooga for the weekend to see "Thomas the Tank Engine". We arrived on Friday afternoon, but weren't planning to see Thomas till Sunday. On Friday evening we went to play in a park by the river that had water fountains to splash in. On the way back to the hotel, we had to cross over the river at which time, Brady had a very serious question for Daddy!

Brady: What's in the river daddy?
Daddy: Boats & fishes.
Brady: Fishes no more in the aquarium daddy?

Brady loves to visit the aquarium and he knows the "fishes" live there, so when daddy told him the fish were in the river, he was concerned they were no longer in the aquarium. He is such a smart cookie :o)

Haircut ~ May 11th 2011

Snuggling in bed after waking up in the morning.

Mummy: Mummy's going to get her haircut today.
Brady: And sit in the chair?
Mummy: Yes, mummy's going to sit in the chair like Brady.
Brady: No, because mummy's hair is long!

Say WHAT??? ~ May 9th 2011

Brady was trying to close the bathroom door, but the bath mat had got stuck under it and it wouldn't close, I told him numerous times to stop and wait so I could help him, he wasn't impressed.

Brady: Give me a break mummy!

Later in the day we were on our way to the supermarket, driving in the neighborhood, a car coming in the opposite direction crossed the center line, I beeped my horn to let him know.

Brady: What you beep for mummy?
Mummy: That car is in the middle of the road.
Brady: (Pause) Say "effing no way" mummy!!!

I asked him who says that, his reply "Miss Oggy" (Holly, Adam's momma). OOPS!!!

Play Date ~ May 5th 2011

Brady had his buddy, Adam over to play this morning, Adam's "momma" had to run errands. Brady and Adam were playing with Brady's garage when one of the cars got stuck and jammed the lift.

Adam: Mummy, fix it!

I find it hilarious that he calls me "mummy".

During the same play date, Adam was riding on Brady's car, in a very authoritative voice, Brady said,

Brady: Get off Brady's car Adam! Get off Brady's car please!

After the car incident, hey both decided to go separate ways to play, but before doing so they walked straight into each other and banged heads.

Brady: It was an accident Adam, Brady kiss it better.

Later that day, Adam had left and Brady and I were watching TV, a commercial for Boeing came on TV.

Brady: I want to go to Boeing too, with Daddy.

Of course there has been SO much more, but I didn't note them down and now I can't remember, the whole reason for starting the blog! I will try to do better from now on.

Dancing.

Hubby came home from his business trip 2 days early tonight, which is very rare, also meant he was able to bathe the Brady boy! Whilst they were bathing, I relaxed on the sofa watching TV and waiting for DWTS to start. When they finished their bath and came downstairs, Brady & I had the following exchange.

Brady: Are you watching the dancing Mummy?
Mummy: No.
Brady: Are you watching the news?
Me: Yes (I was watching Nancy Grace)
Brady: Oh!

Sleep.

Whilst sitting on the deck on a sunny sunday afternoon, Brady & I had the following conversation.

Brady: Are you tired Mummy?
Mummy: Yes Brady, Mummy's tired.
Brady: Do you want to go sleepy on the chair Mummy?
Mummy: 'NODS'
Brady: Go sleepy then Mummy! Brady wake you up when the sun comes out.
